In an uncharacteristic decision, the Ridgecrest City Council (by a 4-0 vote) refused to accept Carole Vaughn’s request to appeal the Ridgecrest Planning Commission’s rejection of her proposed 80-acre Mountain’s Edge residential development.
 
Board approves funding - The Sierra Sands Unified School District Board of Education approved several agenda items relating to the Career Technical Education and Regional Occu-pational Programs at its April 19 meeting.
McCarthy goes to Iraq, Afghanistan - During Congress’ district work period, Rep. Kevin McCarthy traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan on a bipartisan congressional fact-finding mission with Reps.
