NAWCWD, SSUSD sign Educational PartnershipSierra Sands Unified School District (SSUSD) –

Tuesday morning Dan Carreno, executive director of Naval Air Weapons Center Warfare Division (NAWCWD), and Dr. David Ostash, superintendent of SSUSD, signed a new Educational Partnership Agreement today during a ceremony at Burroughs High School. Leadership from the two organizations discussed the opportunities and development that have resulted from the ongoing partnership, toured Mr. Thompson’s fabrication shop and Mr. Jacotin’s engineering classroom, then watched a demonstration from the BHS robotics team that will be representing the district next week at the VEX World Robotics Championship.

“Today was a great opportunity to reflect on the benefit this partnership offers to our students and to China Lake,” said Dr. Ostash. “We will continue to grow this partnership and connect our students with the vast opportunities for STEM career pathways on the base!”

This is the first in a series of articles relating to the classes that are included in the partnership.
