The Mojave View Apartments, now under construction on North Norma Street just North of Grace Lutheran Church, will provide 74 new housing units.

Affordable apartments will not be available for at least two years.

The City partnered with the apartment project developer (Pacific West Corp.) for an Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities grant. In conjunction with the housing project, the California Department of Housing and Community Development awarded the City $6.8 million in funds for public improvements in the surrounding neighborhood. These public improvements include a new transit stop and shelter, bike paths, ADA upgrades to existing sidewalks and driveways, and improvements to the drainage facilities at Norma Street. The City will begin those project late this year through early 2023.

The one, two and three bedroom units are within walking distance of local shopping areas. They will rent from $800 to $1500 per month. These rental rates are comparable to local rentals of the same caliber.

It has been noted that the City is not responsible for the apartment development. That developer is Pacific West Corp.
