Desert Com. Orchestra presents ‘A Christmas in Ridgecrest’

Desert Com. Orchestra presents ‘A Christmas in Ridgecrest’ The Desert Community Orchestra – to perform its annual Christmas Concert Saturday, “A Christmas In Ridgecrest”, December 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Desert Valley Community Complex (formerly Mesquite Hall) at the Desert Empire Fairgrounds. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Masks will be required.

The orchestra’s selections will include an array of Christmas melodies, hymns, and themes. Works by LeRoy Anderson, Mel Torme, and Irving Berlin’s classic “White Christmas” will be featured as well as many other pieces of great holiday music. This year, the Grace Lutheran Church Handbell Choir will perform, and vocalist Holly Goodman will be featured on a special selection called Merry Christmas Never Ends.

Maestro Robert Martinez will be conducting the orchestra’s annual Christmas Concert. The festive atmosphere and energy he radiates from the podium always adds a merry mood to the evening. Mr. Martinez promises it will be a memorable fun filled family night full of great entertainment. “A Christmas in Ridgecrest,” states Martinez, “will be celebrated joyously! Since we were unable to play a concert at all last year, the DCO is grateful to be together and making music again for listeners young and old.”

Concert General admission $10; student/military $5; under 7 years FREE!! Tickets are available on Eventbrite or at the door. Masks are required for the safety of all. Donations are greatly appreciated and assist in covering the many operating expenses associated with the orchestra. The DCO greatly appreciates Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union and other sponsors for their generous support of this special community event.

Other upcoming performances include Saturday March 5, 2022 and Saturday May 14, 2022. This final concert will feature the winners of the Young Artist Competition.
