The identity of the second man killed in the fatal aircraft crash has now been identified by the National Transportation Safety Board/Federal Aviation Administration as 31 year old David Joseph Moynihan of San Diego.

Kern County Sheriff and Fire Departments responded to the scene of a aircraft crash on Friday, November 12 at 2:45pm where on arrival found the remains of an aircraft crash and a subsequent fire. Both occupants of the two-seater aircraft were killed.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 pm in the desert near an old airstrip Northeast of Garlock road and West of Highway 395.

At that time The Kern County corners office had identified one of the two people killed in the crash as a Hal Derwin Wood, 68, of Murrieta, California.

The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as a single-engine Zenith STOL CH-701.
