Two SSUSD students pass weekend before Thanksgiving

Sierra Sands Unified School District Superintendent

Dr. David Ostash –

We are deeply saddened to report that two of our students, a Senior from Mesquite High School and a Junior from Burroughs High School, passed away last weekend.  We extend our deepest heartfelt sympathy and condolences to their families, classmates, teachers, and the community.  There is nothing more tragic than the loss of life in our school community.  We ask that you keep these families and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.  We have been and remain in close contact with the families and are working to support them in this very difficult time.  We have also made grief counselors and other services available to our students and staff at Mesquite and Burroughs as they work through this tragic time.
