Community members protest vaccine mandatesLaura Austin photo: Approximately 20 community members including home school teachers, government contractors and civil service employees staged a protest at the corner of China Lake Blvd. and Ward Street Friday, October 15. The group under the unofficial name, Freedom Of Choice, is taking a stand for people’s rights. The right to dispute the forceful mandates of vaccines, according to Ben Spurbeck, spokesperson for the group. “We believe you should not lose your job if you are not willing to be vaccinated. We believe in pro-medical freedom, it’s time for people to stand up for their rights,” stated Spurbeck, who is employed by the Department of Defense. He also announced that the group will be staging a protest here every weekday including Flex Friday, for an indefinite period of time.
