Residents enjoy visit from ’Doc’Laura Austin photo: Alyse Dannonberg and her family joined 100’s of other visitors this weekend while B-29 DOC was stationed at the Inyokern Airport. Tours of DOC were provided by “Friends of DOC.” Standing in the cockpit of this historic aircraft was an experience not to be forgotten. Ticket sold out early for the many who took advantage of the flights that were available. This was a special experience for Alyse Dannonberg as her great uncle participated with Paul Tibits, who masterminded the A-bomb project. He flew the B-29, the Enola Gay, and dropped the bomb on Hiroshima bringing an end to WWII.
