The last year has been full of challenges for many of us. The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society is excited and pleased that it is able to offer seven wonderful in person concerts this season. Each offering promises to be a rewarding and renewing experience.

The Carbe and Durand Trio, new to the Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society this year, will present an engaging program featuring the violin and guitar. Several original selections as well as a number of contemporary pieces will be presented for the enjoyment of all on Sunday October 17, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

At 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 the Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society is pleased to be able to host for the first time, The Ariel String Quartet, known for its virtuosity, probing musical insight and impassioned performance to delight the audience with engaging selections from Lena Auerbach, Béla Bartók, and Antonin Dvořák. This promises to be an interesting and stimulating evening.

The RCMS season takes a break in December and returns on Sunday January 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. with Shtrykov-Tanaka, two gifted instrumentalists on piano and clarinet. Their selections feature two Schumann works, the Sonata No. 1 in A Minor for Clarinet & Piano (originally for violin) opus 105 and Fünf Stücke im Volkston  for Basset Clarinet (originally for Cello) & Piano, opus 102; along with a Brahms Sonata in F Minor for Clarinet & Piano, opus 120, No.1 and Fantasiestücke for Clarinet & Piano, opus 22 by Carl Reinecke. This program has something for everyone to enjoy.

On Sunday February 13, 2022 at 4:00 p.m., the RCMS is pleased to present a delightful special Partners in Performance concert featuring Robyn Bollinger (violin) a young protégé of Midori accompanied by Dina Vainshatien (piano), with their program, “Encore! Just One More…”. They feature an introduction by Kreisler and will perform selections by Bach, Paganini, Monti, Wieniawski, Tchaikovsky, Chaplin and ZaBach, among others, on the themes of Legacy, Identity, Nostalgia and Innovation.

RCMS is pleased that the always popular Neave Piano Trio will be back with us on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 4:00 p.m., delighting us with selections from Farrene, Tailiferre, and Ravel. Neave continues to earn praise for their engaging interpretations of a wide range of inspiring musical offerings.

On April 23, 2022 at 7:30 p.m., RCMS is happy to again see music lovers in the presence of the Felici Piano Trio as they present selections by Mozart, Ravel and Dvořák. This vibrant trio has performed to acclaim to the delight of its audiences in the United States, Europe andw South America providing beautiful, accessible programs for the enjoyment of all.

Seraph Brass, a dynamic brass ensemble drawing from the ranks of America’s top female brass players, will close out the season on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. with a varied program of Greig, Mozart, Albéniz, Borodin, Liszt, Puccini, McMichael, and McKee among several other notables.

The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society greatly appreciates the opportunity to present these uplifting programs to the members of the Ridgecrest community, especially during these challenging times. As before, the artists will present shortened programs to the local student population. All involved are happy to be able to provide this enriching experience to the youth of our community.

At this time, it is planned that the venue for each of the concerts will be the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church, 633 Las Flores Avenue in Ridgecrest. The Board of the Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society is mindful of the challenges presented by the current COVID-19 situation, therefore, rigid adherence to CDC health guidelines are in place and will be followed stringently. If the requirements regarding social distancing require a change of venue, ticket holders will be notified in advance of the performance.

As we look forward to the coming season with anticipation, the Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society wishes to extend its thanks to the many dedicated patrons who continue to support the mission of bringing beautiful and inspiring music to the Ridgecrest area.
