Public Health confirms 511 new cases in County

Public Health confirms 511 new cases in CountyRidgecrest Regional Hosspital, Jayde Glenn– Reports COVID-19 from 08-15-21 - 08-28-21 there are a total of 1,976 positives and (80 new).

A 14 day positivity from RRH tests, are 9.3% (up 1.2%)

Positives from residents in our community: 1,867 (73 new). In Ridgecrest, 1,622 (69 new) Inyokern 86 (1 new) Trona, 76 (3 new) other in our service area, 14 (0 new) positives from out of town residents 109 (7 new).

According to Kern County Public Health, there are 511 newly reported confirmed cases in the County, bringing our total confirmed cases to date to 124,943.

There are 3 new deaths being reported today and a total of 1,465 COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The 14-day case rate is 38.69 per 100,000.

As of August 29, 725,313 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to Kern County residents. 345,678 or 45.8% of Kern’s eligible population have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of August 30, Kern County had 270 COVID-19 related hospitalizations and 51 were in the ICU.

In the most recent three weeks there has been a 32.5% increase in first doses of the COVID-19 vaccines administered in Kern County.

“We are encouraged to see first dose vaccination administration rates continuing to rise in our community,” said Brynn Carrigan, Director of Kern County Public Health.
