Dixie Fire largest fire in state history 30% containedThe Dixie Fire which has covered 501,008. acres has been reported as the largest single wildfire in California’s history. As of this date the fire is 30% contained and has destroyed 1,045 structures and damaged 69.

As of Wednesday, the fire had remained active overnight due to minimal humidity. Heavy smoke reduced visibility in the fire area. Thunderstorms are predicted moving in this week.

Evacuation warnings and orders are changing every day. The fire started on July 14. The cause is now under investigation.
