Border not just a crisis but ‘a heartbreak’

Editorial

With all of the darkness that is befalling us right now, the most grevious is the report from Congressman Kevin McCarthy, as he reports what he saw at the border just days ago. He spoke of it as not only a crisis at the border, but heartbreak at the border. A case in point, was the three little children, a one year old, a three old, and a five year old, holding hands running across the border with not an adult in sight.

I believe Lady Liberty is weeping, this is not what she meant when holding forth the torch she said, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free...”

Are we a refuge for these children, no, they will be warehoused with the thousands of other children, crossing over everyday.

Then who knows, where they will go from there? Many will be taken up in human trafficking, many others in gangs. Hopefully some will find a safe haven.

I would like to say that I see light at the end of this tunnel, but I don’t.

“As we have done it unto the least of these...” God help us!

I do not know how we will answer for this, but we will.
