Madalene “Kay” HallMadalene “Kay” Hall died January 25, 2021, in Ridgecrest, CA. She was 84. Interment of ashes at Desert Memorial Park.

A celebration of her life is set for March 20, 2021 at Mac’s International Restaurant in Ridgecrest, CA.

Kay was born on May 29, 1936, in Torrance, CA to Walter and Madalene Smith. She lived in Trona until the family moved to Ridgecrest after her father, Walter, accepted a position at Naval Weapons Center China Lake, CA.

Kay attended and graduated from Burroughs High School. After graduation she married Artie Blackston. Together they had four children. Kay worked as a Computer Operator and later as a Computer Security Specialist at the Naval Weapons Center until her retirement.

After retirement she enjoyed serving as a Pink Lady at Ridgecrest Hospital, a member of Laureate Epsilon Kappa Sorority and enjoyed traveling and cruising to various exciting destinations.

Kay was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her children Elizabeth Leming of Ridgecrest, Rick Blackston and wife Holly of Washington, Tammy Kinnan and husband Bob of Ridgecrest, Ronnie Blackston and longtime partner Diana of Montana, sister, Darlene Schnieter of Ridgecrest, and brother Daniel Smith and wife Diana of Utah; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband’s Artie Blackston, Bob Baxter, and Floyd Hall, mother Madalene Smith, father Walter Smith, sister Isabelle Smith, and grandson Justin Eberhardt.

In lieu of flowers, donations, in Kay’s name, may be sent to the Pink Ladies at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
