Charles E SwedblomCharles Emil Swedblom, born to Charles Victor Swedblom and Sally M O’Leary Swedblom, in 1926, died on Saturday, November 7, 2020. He lived most of his younger years in Montana and western Idaho. Prior to his HS graduation, he enlisted in the Navy to serve during WW II. After the war, he returned to McCall, ID to marry his HS sweetheart Jean Ackaret in 1946. They were married 62 years until she passed in 2008. They had three children, Sharon Askew, Victor Swedblom, and Charlotte Disney; plus 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Chuck’s career in electronics, which he loved, began with speaker repair/TV servicing, then to early rocket testing in 1958 at Edwards AFB, and to China Lake in 1960. He received the Technical Director’s award at the Naval Weapons Center and retired in 1987. He was a devout Christian and dedicated Mason, Past High Priest of Royal Arch, and supported the Ridgecrest lodge. Even after retirement, Chuck remained active in the San Bernardino Microwave Society by building beacons and encouraging the younger members.

A viewing on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, 9-10am, at Holland and Lyons, will be followed by an 11am graveside service at Desert Memorial Park.
