Rotary hosts ‘Gifts That Give Hope’

Rotary hosts ‘Gifts That Give Hope’ROTARY CLUB OF CHINA LAKE – During this season of giving, consider giving the gift of hope to others. The Gifts That Give Hope alternative gift fair will be online this year from Nov. 21-Dec. 1 at gifts

The participating non-profits offering services range from animal care, to literacy, to religious support to healthcare.

Here is how it works: shoppers go online and review the non-profit organizations, learning about their work, and make a donation to the organizations of their choice in honor of a friend or a loved one. The donor in turn receives a card with a description of the charitable donation to give as a gift to their loved one.

“For instance, I could donate to Friends of the Ridgecrest Branch Library,” said Rotary’s Betty Miller. “I would then get a card that I could give to my mother, thanking her for instilling in me a love of reading.”

When you purchase a gift from Gifts that Give Hope for a friend or family member, you not only celebrate the special occasion with a unique gift, you also give back to the community.

Participating non-profits this year are: Almost Eden Rescue, Cerro Coso Community College Foundation Inc., China Lake Mountain Rescue Group, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Friends of the Ridgecrest Branch Library Foundation, Rotary Club of China Lake Charitable Foundation, The Salvation Army Ridgecrest Corps and Women’s Center-High Desert Inc.

This event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of China Lake.
