Artists League hosts watercolor artistDESERT ARTISTS LEAGUE — On Nov. 2, at the general meeting of the Desert Artists League, Kathleen Murray (Forest Kat Studio, Inyokern) will be discussing and demonstrating the techniques involved in painting lace fabric. The discussion will pertain to principles important to all media. Emphasis and technique will pertain to transparent watercolor. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Church of the Nazarene, 571 N. Norma in Ridgecrest.

Kathleen is a Signature member of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society and the Southern Colorado Watercolor Society and an associate member of Western Colorado and Colorado State Watercolor Societies.

Kathleen has been honored with many awards at various shows and venues across Colorado. She has taught at Woodman Valley Chapel and Colorado Springs Christian School in Colorado Springs and at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake, Colorado, and is now teaching privately in California.

Kathleen’s preferred painting style may be described as story-telling. She is currently exploring various experimental techniques to further express her point of view.

Kathleen has studied extensively with noted artists in Colorado, New Mexico and Costa Rica. Her art can be seen currently in the Coso Room at the Maturango Museum and at forestkat studio.com.
