A motorist was killed Tuesday afternoon in a collision on Highway 395 about 18 miles south of Ridgecrest.

According to a release from the Mojave California Highway Patrol office, 44-year-old Victorville resident Cory Lane Hofstetter was traveling on Hwy 395 around 3:15 p.m. when he collided with a semi truck near the Garlock Road turnoff. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further details were not available at press time.

A postmortem examination will be conducted at a later date to confirm the cause and manner of death said the release.
