Joy C. Ashlock

Joy C. AshlockJoy Cottrell Ashlock of Inyokern died Sept. 19, 2020, at Palmdale Regional Hospital from hemorrhage shock due to anemia caused by diverticulitis. She was 69.

Joy was born May 10, 1951, in Waynesboro, Tenn. She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1969, and went on to be a book keeper for William L. Morris Chevrolet. She moved to Ridgecrest in 1991.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Ashlock of Inyokern; brother, Keith Cottrell of Fillmore; sisters, Delphene Edwards of Virginia, Shirley Cromwell of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Maunie Waters of Riverside; step-children, Jennifer Ova of Cedar City, Utah, Roy Ashlock of Mesa, Ariz., Kristin Powell of Sisters, Ore., and Andrew Ashlock of Cambria; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Inyokern Baptist Church.

She requested cremation. Final burial Bardsdale Cemetery next to her mother at later date. Arrangements are being handled by Holland & Lyons Mortuary.
