‘May we remember your faithfulness’

‘May we remember your faithfulness’On the morning of September 11, 2001, 2,976 people, from 93 nations, lost their lives in New York, at the Pentagon, & on Flight 93.

Today, 19 years later, we pause to remember, those moments of horror, and pray for the lives left scarred by the terrible events of that day.

We also remember the incredible courage displayed by those who ran towards disaster to help their fellow man. We honor the first responders today.

I invite you to pray with me…

Almighty God, may you bring comfort and strength to the families, friends and loved ones of the victims of 9/11.

May we grieve with those who still mourn and draw strength from those who bravely responded and gave their lives to save others.

God, may you guide the decisions of our leaders and give them wisdom and discernment as they lead our great nation and military.

May their actions, and your provision, bring peace to all people.

Above all, God, may we remember your faithfulness and learn to trust in your unfailing love.

We humbly pray that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of your favor and glad to do your will. Give us grateful hearts, O God, for all your gifts and, especially, may you make us mindful of the needs of others.

Amen.
