Leslie Willhite

Born in Tennessee, Leslie Willhite passed May 27, 2020 in California City, Calif.

The little ball of light that is Leslie’s heart, soul and spirit has slipped the surly bonds of Earth to ascend with angels into Heaven. Leslie met Jamie, the love of her life at Victor Valley College in 1980 while she was studying dance and playing softball and he was studying music. Their mutual passions for music and dance sparked a love that would last a lifetime as they became inseparable dance partners in “the dance of life. Leslie loved her family above all else and enjoyed family dinners and holidays together. After raising her two sons her greatest enjoyment in life was playing with her grandson Dane, seeing him grow up, graduate from high-school and develop into an outstanding young man.

Leslie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Chapman University in 2006. She studied at the Center for Sacred Arts and was ordained as a minister by the International Assembly of Spiritual Healers and Earth Stewards. Leslie had a career at Boeing that spanned 27 years working at the China Lake Naval Weapons Center and Edwards Air Force Base. Her favorite assignment was as an administrative assistant working with “her tribe” at the CV-22 Combined Test Force, Edwards AFB where her project manager gave her the honorary title of Spiritual Counselor, a title she truly cherished.

Leslie was a five-foot three-inch tall Scots-Irish redhead with a beautiful smile and mischievous twinkle in her emerald green eyes who had a heart of gold. True to form, she was a fiery redhead who was a force to be reckoned with when she set her mind to accomplish something. She had a unique combination of intelligence, wit, and a special sense of humor as evident from her personal business card title “The Irreverent Reverend” Leslie Willhite. This powerful combination won over many hearts and led many people to love and appreciate her for who she was at heart. Her family will love and cherish her and carry her memory in our hearts forever more.

Survived by her husband Jamie Willhite, two sons Joshua and Christian (Rochelle), grandson Dane (Kaitlynn), two brothers Jason and Randy, sister Nadine, brother-in-law Craig, sister-in-law Jean, 4 nieces, 4 nephews and her canine companion Jack who never left her side for the last 14 years.

A celebration of life will be held at the Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville on July 25, 2020 at 12:00 Noon. The club requests that we observe social distancing practices and wear a mask except when speaking during the celebration or when eating. We request her friends to RSVP to Family of Leslie Willhite at P.O. Box 2753 California City, Calif., 93504.
