NAWCWD holds virtual employee orientation

NAWCWD holds virtual employee orientationMelissa Finnell, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division’s chief of operations, tells 12 new hires about the history of the command from her office during the first virtual new employee orientation May 26. “Giving the command overview virtually was a bit of a challenge for me because I prefer face-to-face interaction,” Finnell said. “But NAWCWD is committed to keeping our mission going, and we’ll use every means possible to get our new hires off to a great start.” Joy Hill, of the Human Capital Management Group, said the briefs went pretty smoothly for the nine presenters at Monday’s orientation. “DoD’s quick deployment of these tools will allow us to more personally connect to those we can’t see face-to-face,” she said. The command intends to continue the virtual NEO format until it can safely and effectively return to the in-person sessions at each site. — U.S. Navy photo by Renee Hatcher
