Local paramedics, EMTs deployed to Bakersfield for COVID-19 outbreakParamedics and emergency medical technicians from Liberty Ambulance, owned and operated by Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, have been deployed to a skilled nursing facility in Bakersfield at the request of Kern County Public Health. The facility has suffered from an outbreak of COVID-19, which infected a significant number of patients and staff. The Liberty personnel will be deployed for an initial period of 10-15 days to provide care to the patients and relieve staff that have been working long hours during the pandemic. “Right after our community experienced the earthquakes last year, many of our neighbors came to our aid,” said RRH CEO Jim Suver. “I think it is important for us to support each other when this kind of need arises.” — Courtesy photo
