Police arrested one suspect after responding to the robbery of a cab driver in the 200 block of South Sunset Street on Sunday, May 24.

According to a release from the Ridgecrest Police Department, officers arrived on the scene just before 10 p.m. where a taxi cab operator said she was dropping off passengers when one of them reportedly pulled a gun and pressed it to her cheek.

The victim reported that she told her assailants to “take whatever they wanted,” and was then pepper sprayed in the face. The assailants reportedly stole cell phones and an unknown amount of money before fleeing the scene.

Officers quickly identified possible suspect Nasia Good, 18, after locating her cell phone in the cab. She was contacted at her residence in the 1000 block of East California Avenue where officers found the suspected pepper spray and was arrested.

During an interview, Good reportedly admitted to both placing a CO-2 powered BB-gun to the cab driver’s head as well as pepper spraying the victim. She was transported and booked in the Bakersfield Central Receiving Facility.

RPD is still investigating the incident and is requesting information from the public to identify two other individuals suspected to be involved in the crime. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 760-499-5100.

Additional court information was not available at press time.
