Louis R. Castillo

Louis R. CastilloLouis Ruiz Castillo was born May 23, 1948, in Santa Ana and passed away April 30, 2020, in his Ridgecrest home from natural causes.

Louis was raised in Trona. He attended local schools, graduated and then joined the armed forces. He did a tour of duty in Korea. While he was there, he passionately supported one of the many orphanages. He was honorably discharged with rank of SGT ARMY-AUS ARTY.

Upon his discharge, Louis worked as an expert welder for 40 plus years before his retirement.

Louis is survived by his mother, Vera; daughter, Karen and husband Mike; grandson, Ryan and wife Maureen; granddaughter, Linsy and husband Mike; sisters, Rosalinda, Cynthia and Maria; nieces, Tina Cecena (Miguel) and Gina Evers; nephews, Anthony Castillo (Sherry), Juan Castillo and Adrian Evers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan, and brothers John and Arthur.

Louis was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and grandpa. He was a generous person and was loved by his family and closest friends. His family is saddened by his passing but comforted to know he will be reunited with his father and brothers.

A military service with honors will be held at a later date at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.
