Donald A. BakerDonald Arthur Baker, 71 years old, passed away unexpectedly at Desert View Hospital on April 8, 2020, of a massive heart attack.

There will not be a service or memorial per his request.

Don was born Nov. 2, 1948, in Bridgewater, Mass., to Robert Coots Baker and Gladys Hilditch Agnew. Don made many memories with his three brothers and two sisters on the farm, ocean and more.

He joined the US Navy in 1968 after attending one semester at Barrington College, R.I. His years of service were spent as a submariner diesel mechanic. Don received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and a First Good Conduct Medal. Don was honorably discharged in 1976.

Don met his best friend and the love of his life, Bonnie, while stationed in San Diego. They married in Inyokern on Feb. 10, 1973. They had a daughter, Faith Baker (Lorenz), and a son, James Baker. Don and Bonnie recently celebrated 47 years together. During their marriage they lived in California, Idaho, and Arizona. At the time of his passing he was living the retired life in Pahrump, Nev. All of Don’s life he was passionate about God, his wife, his family, and tinkering around the house.

Don is survived by his wife, Bonnie Baker, and his children, Faith (Richard) Lorenz and James Baker, of Ridgecrest, CA ; his grandchildren, Kerensa (Tyler) Stoffel & Elizabeth Morgan Baker of Pahrump, Reinhard Lorenz of Ridgecrest, CA, and Hope Lorenz of Eureka, CA; and his great-granddaughter, Blythe Stoffel. Don is survived by his brothers, Allan (Cora) Baker & Herbert Baker, and sisters, Priscilla Lee & Nancy (Garry) Scherbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Baker II.
