Bobby W. ScottOn Feb. 25, 2020, Bobby Wayne Scott — our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend — passed quietly from this life into the next.

He was born Aug. 17, 1940, in Arvin to JT and Annie Lou Scott. He grew up in Bakersfield and on the central coast.

He graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1958 and from Bakersfield College in 1962. Bob married Aileen, the love of his life, in August 1961. Bob worked for a short time for Space Technology Laboratories on some of the early satellites as an electronics technician. He joined the Army in 1963 serving until 1966. He then entered Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he earned his degree in Electronics Engineering.

Bob came to China Lake where he was employed from 1970 until January 2020. During his nearly 50-year career supporting the Navy as an Electronics Engineer, Bob enjoyed his work supporting the mission and made many amazing friends over the years.

He is so much missed by his family. He leaves behind his wife Aileen, daughters Sharon Scott, Aimee Bloomberg, and Jennifer (Lee) O’Laughlin. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Kayleigh (Jody) Bray, Malcolm Robinson, Alyssa Bloomberg, Ashley Bloomberg, Alec Bloomberg, Alexis O’Laughlin, Emily O’Laughlin, Caitlin O’Laughlin, and one great grandson Landon Bloomberg. He is also survived by his sister Carolle Tomlinson.

A memorial service is planned at Ridgecrest United Methodist Church, though the date has yet to be determined. All friends and family are invited to attend to celebrate the life of this wonderful and dearly loved man.
