Betty Louon Gardiner

Betty Louon Gardiner, longtime resident of Trona, Calif. passed away on March 7, 2020 at the age of 80 years old in her home, surrounded by family.

She was born on January 1, 1940 in Oklahoma and moved to Bakersfield, Calif. in 1946.

She married Charles Malone and they had 3 children Ann (Malone) Hill, Raymond Malone, and George Malone.

She was remarried to Gerald Gardiner in 1972 and they moved to Trona where she raised her family and lived until she was called home.

She was a big part of the Trona community and volunteered her selfless services as she ran the senior citizen thrift store for five year and helped whomever asked for her help and sometimes even if they didn’t.

She loved going to the Trona High School to watch Sports played by her grandchildren and the community children as they all grew up together

She was true Trona blue all the way and was not going to let an earthquake make her move out of the home and community she loved.

Betty was preceded in death by her son Raymond Malone, Husband Gerald Gardner, and her parents James and Dovie Jones; her brother Charles Jones.

She is survived by her Daughter Ann Hill (Martin Hill); Her Son George Malone (Ruth Bryant); And her Sister Vicki Sue Kanady (Paul Kanady) and her brother Jimmy Jones. She is also survived by her Nieces and Nephews and her 12 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Betty Louon Gardiner, we love you and we will dearly miss you!

Grave Side Service will be held at Searles Valley Cemetery, 10 am. Saturday, March 21, 2020, on Athol Street off of Trona Road in Trona.
