GA meets in closed sessionBy BRIAN COSNER

The IWV Groundwater Authority will hold a special closed session Friday morning, March 13, to discuss litigation threatened by valley groundwater pumpers.

The 10 a.m. meeting will begin with public comment, immediately followed by closed session to discuss tolling agreement requests from “Meadowbrook Dairy et al,” “Mojave Pistachio et al” and “Searles Valley Mineral et al.” The last item on the agenda is a report from closed session.

The GA’s relationship with agricultural and industrial pumpers tensed when the authority released proposed water allocations that gave certain large pumpers enough water to operate for a few years, or months in some cases.

The meeting will be held at the IWV Water District office at 500 W. Ridgecrest Blvd. See for more information.
