The sole occupant of a Dodge Dakota truck was injured Saturday after colliding with a power pole on Inyokern Road (State Route 178) just east of Strecker Road, according to a release from the California Highway Patrol Mojave office.

Southern California Edison crews had already been working on power lines along 178 for most of the weekend. But shortly after crews left the area, the driver of the truck collided with a power pole. Some residents in the area then reportedly lost power for a short time.

According to the CHP release, the driver, a Ridgecrest resident, was traveling westbound when she left the road and traveled into the eastbound shoulder where the collision occurred around 4:35 p.m.

She sustained minor injuries and was transported to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.

As of press time, CHP was still investigating the cause.

Personnel from the Ridgecrest Police Department, Kern County Fire Department and Liberty Ambulance also responded to the incident.
