Flowering buds herald ’Indian Spring’

Flowering buds herald ’Indian Spring’Are flowering buds and visiting bees a sign of early spring in the Indian Wells Valley? “I guess it depends on your definition of ‘spring,’ but I would say this is the typical ‘Indian Spring’ we see every year about this time,” said Tamera Walters, lead forecaster at China Lake. “It’s that time of year when we go from one extreme to the next. High pressure is keeping most systems to the north of us, but long-range forecast suggests that the high is going to move out into the Pacific enough to allow Arctic air to make it to our area later this month. So for the most part expect temps to be in the mid 60s and lows in the low-to-mid 30s for the most part.” — Photo by Ken Sanger
