CLAS to explore future of club

Star Gazing


The China Lake Astronomical Society will meet Monday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Maturango Museum.

Ted Hodgkinson will present a program on astronomy news, and Keith Weisz will lead a discussion on the future of the club. “Input from all present is encouraged.”


1. Venus will shine brightly in the western evening sky all month.

2. Mercury is also in the evening sky where it will be in the west for about the first three weeks of the month.

3. Jupiter and Saturn move to the morning sky this month where they will join Mars in the southeastern sky before sunrise.

4. Watch for the zodiacal light in the west after sunset this month.
