Officers of the Ridgecrest Police Department arrested one suspect after responding to calls of a man threatening people with a baseball bat on Friday, Dec. 27.

As police arrived at the scene in the 300 block of South Warner Street, they reportedly saw suspect Shawn Jaime, 44, throw a baseball bat into his residence.

During an investigation, officers learned that Jaime had had an argument with his across-the-street neighbor, after which he reportedly armed himself with a bat and challenged the subjects in the street to fight him.

“Jaime made threats to several of the neighbors that he was going to use the baseball bat to cause serious bodily injury.

“The neighbors felt threatened,” said an RPD press release.

The suspect was arrested and booked in the RPD holding facility on $60,000 bail.

He is facing two felony counts of threatening with intent to terrorize and two misdemeanor charges of exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm.
