Virginia A. Monahan

Virginia A. Monahan, (aka Annie) passed away at her home in Inyokern on Nov. 10, 2019. She was 74.

Virginia has been a resident of the Indian Wells Valley since 1982, when the Navy sent the family here from Guam. Her husband (deceased 1995) was James “Yard Dawg” Monahan. They retired and carried on a home-based business until his passing.

Virginia opted to stay a resident ever since.

She loved the outdoors, especially the beach. Photography was a loved pastime. Her friends were her favorite. True to her Southern roots, she was generous and could be a good ear to anyone. She always loved to visit! She was down to earth and wanted each and everyone to know that she will miss you all so very much. She insisted on no memorials.

If you feel so compelled, donations can be made to the Cancer Society or St. Judes, in her honor.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Welker and son (in-law) Scott Welker of Arlington, Tenn.; granddaughter, Brenna Welker of La Plata, Md., and her grandson in Heaven, Thane Welker.

Virginia is with Dawg and Thane now. Thank you to all who loved her. We will all miss her very much.
