Police arrested a Ridgecrest man last weekend after the suspect allegedly stabbed another man in a home on the 1100 block of South McCall Street. The suspect – 29-year-old Thomas Taylor Pitt – is charged with attempted murder.

According to a release from the Ridgecrest Police Department, officers were dispatched at 4:45 p.m., Nov. 17, to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, where the victim – an unnamed 27-year-old Rosamond resident – was being treated for “several stab wounds on various areas of his body.” The victim was in stable condition at the time of the release.

RPD officers and detectives investigated the attack and identified Pitt as their primary suspect.

Early Monday morning, RPD personnel located Pitt at a residence in the 900 block of West Oregon Avenue where they arrested him without incident.

Police are asking anyone with information pertaining to the case to contact Detective Franklen Mixon, 760-499-5100.

Pitt is facing felony charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and first-degree burglary. His bail is set at $585,000. Pitt has a pre-preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 25, 10:30 a.m. in Ridgecrest.
