A Ridgecrest man was arrested Sunday, Nov. 3, for allegedly stabbing two victims, according to a press release from the Ridgecrest Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of “a large fight in the street” on the 100 Block of East Garnet Avenue just after 1 a.m.

Upon arrival, they reportedly found two victims with lacerations to their throats and faces. After interviewing witnesses, RPD investigators identified 21-year-old Benjamin Herrera as the suspect.

Officers later took Herrera into custody and transported him to the Central Receiving Facility in Bakersfield. He faces four felony charges — two for attempted murder, two for assault with a deadly weapon. His bail review and pre-preliminary hearing are set for Nov. 12 at 10:30 a.m. in Ridgecrest. His bail is $1.1 million.
