Quilt Guild to host  speaker from DAR

The Hi Desert Quilt Guild will host a guest speaker at its Thursday, Nov. 7, meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Historic USO Building.

Kelly McDonald from the Panamint Springs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will share information about her organization.

DAR is a women’s service organization whose members are descendants of patriots of the American Revolution.

The DAR has a museum in Washington, D.C., that collects American artifacts and has a great display of early American quilts.

Her presentation is entitled “Masterpiece Quilts in the DAR Museum, an overview of the masterpiece quilts in the museum’s collection and the women who made them.”

The public is welcome. Admission is free to members and $5 for guests.
