To the Editor: Habitat closes local account

This letter is to officially notify Ridgecrest residents that Habitat for Humanity Indian Wells Valley will be transferring all mortgages to Habitat for Humanity Tulare-Kings Counties as of July 2019. We are making this transfer because we are no longer able to manage and facilitate mortgages due to a lack of staff.

HFHIWV is no longer able to accept donations.

We are dissolving because of an aging workforce, dwindling board of directors, lack of staff in managing the office and building code issues that make it difficult to build affordable housing.

It has been our pleasure to have been able to provide affordable housing to the Indian Wells Valley for more than 19 years.

After a successful transfer of all partner family mortgages and sale of all owned properties, our affiliate will dissolve and no longer will be a Habitat affiliate.

M. W. Benton, HFHIWV Board of Directors
