Council to challenge Caltrans funding withdrawal proposalThe Ridgecrest City Council will review a letter requesting that the California Transportation Commission reject the Caltrans proposal to de-fund three city projects.

The header, posted without additional content at the request of Councilman Mike Mower, will be the sole discussion item at the council’s Wednesday, Nov. 6, meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers.

Other items on the agenda include a presentation honoring the American Legion, and consent calendar approval — which includes acceptance of a grant awarded from the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division and a continuance of the local declaration of a state of emergency following the July earthquakes.

The council has also scheduled two items in the preceding 5 p.m. closed session — a performance evaluation of City Manager Ron Strand and a conference with property negotiators for a public parcel of land.

For more information, see the full agenda posted on the city’s website (www.ridgecrest-ca.gov) under the City Council option on the Government tab.
