Minetti Quartett performs Nov. 3The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society will present the Minetti Quartett in concert on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 4 p.m. in the Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church.

The quartet features Maria Ehmer on violin, Anna Knopp on violin, Milan Milojicic on viola and Leonhard Roczek on cello. They will perform a program of music by Joseph Haydn, including String Quartet in G Minor, Opus 74, No. 3 “Rider” Hob.III:74; Alban Berg, String Quartet, Opus 3; and Johannes Brahms, including String Quartet in A Minor, Opus 51, No. 2.

Since being nominated for the “Rising Stars” award by the European Concert Hall Organization in 2008-09, the Minetti Quartett, comprising Austrian musicians all living in Vienna, has performed many times in renowned venues in Vienna, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm, Brussels, London and other locations. Invitations to chamber music festivals have taken the quartet to North, Central and South America, Australia, Japan and China. The Minetti Quartett is a winner of many international chamber music competitions.

Since 2009 Hänssler Classic has released four highly acclaimed CD recordings (Haydn, Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Schubert) by the ensemble. The quartet has undertaken teaching projects in Finland, Mexico, Spain, Sweden and at American and Austrian universities.
