‘The Power  of Feeling’  opens Nov. 1The Maturango Museum will host an opening reception Friday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. for Norma Alonzo, whose “Power of Feeling” show will exhibit her large-scale abstract paintings.

“Norma Alonzo has always taken her painting life seriously, albeit privately,” said a spokesperson. “An extraordinarily accomplished artist, she has been painting for over 25 years. Beginning as a landscape painter, she quickly transitioned to an immersion in all genres to experiment and learn.

“Alonzo has come to a place where she believes she has something to offer, something to put forth into the world.”

In 2017 she began venturing into the world of exhibitions.

Her work has been featured at the International Museum of Art; 50th Arts International Exhibition, El Paso, Texas; Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, Mass.; Royal Ulster Academy of Arts, Belfast, United Kingdom; Art in Embassies, Windhoek, Namibia; High Desert Museum, Bend, Ore., and Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, Santa Ana, Calif.

Alonzo will give a presentation on “A Journey Into Abstract Landscape” at 7:30 p.m.

Receptions are always free and open to the public. Her artwork will be available for purchase.
