Ridgecrest police gathered Friday, Oct. 11, at Puff and Stuff Vape and Smoke Shop where they seized three illegal gambling machines and more than 3,000 glass pipes intended for illegal drug use.

According to RPD Sgt. Ryan Marrone, police arrived the previous Thursday with a felony warrant for owner Elias Naoum regarding a previous gaming machine arrest. Naoum reportedly does not have a gambling license for any type of gaming machine, electronic or otherwise.

While police were there, they noticed the pipes and the machines and returned Friday for an undercover Alcoholic Beverage Control check where the agent was able to purchase the suspected drug paraphernalia pipes and operate the gaming machines.

Police cited and released a store employee but arrested Naoum with felony charges of maintaining a gambling premises and holding gambling stakes.

No court information was available at press time.
