Exhibit celebrates Open Studio artists

Exhibit celebrates Open Studio artistsThe Maturango Museum will host its annual Open Studio Tour Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, to offer residents an inside glimpse into the creative spaces of local artisans.

“This is a wonderful way to meet many of our local artists and see the amazing array of talent that we have in our community,” said Andrea Pelch, gallery coordinator at the museum.

For $10, each tourist will receive a map that will allow him or her to visit the 19 participating artists between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are on sale in the museum gift shop.

This year’s tour includes artists who work in jewelry, sculpture, oil paintings, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, torch-worked glass, wood, ceramics, collage, forged-steel, acrylic and more.

Each artist also has pieces on display in the museum through Oct. 27.

“Always new art to be seen, enjoyed and purchased,” said Pelch.

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
