"Slurry season" begins

"Slurry season" beginsCrews from the Ridgecrest Public Works Department put a coat of slurry on a local roadway. According to Public Works Director Bard Lower, they city started its fall slurry program on Sept. 24. “We should be slurrying, provided the weather cooperates, until the end of October,” he announced. Last spring the slurry machine capped some 671,736 square feet of pavement. Lower said that the plan for this fall is to coat 831,294 square feet. Lower gave an update on the slurry program at the Oct. 2 meeting of the Ridgecrest City Council. Details will be reported in a future edition of the News Review. — Courtesy photo
