Tickets still on sale for wine galaA few tickets are left for the medieval-themed “Evening Under the Stars,” set for Saturday, Sept. 14, as the last major fund-raising push for the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital’s Hospice House drive.

Eachy year the RRH Foundation hosts a wine gala — that marries upscale dining with an element of mystery — to help meet its fundraising goals.

According to Foundation Director Kim Metcalf, she is less than $40,000 away from the $300,000 goal toward establishing a home for local patients receiving palliative care services.

One of the elements that set apart this event from other fund-raisers is the fact that the final location is kept a secret. Guests arrive at Desert Valleys Federal Credit Union at 5:45 p.m. They are served a glass of champagne, then bussed to their final destination.

“We also have a great menu this year,” said Metcalf. The food is always coordinated with the exotic theme. “We are also upping our game on the wine, going with Tooth and Nail Winery.”

In keeping with the “Fall in Camelot” theme, the winery is located in a castle.

“There’s really no other event in town quite like this one,” said Metcalf.

Anyone interested in attending or sponsoring the event can call Metcalf at 760-499-3955.
