Nora Arnold

On Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, Nora Arnold — loving mother and grandmother — passed away at the age of 72.

Nora was born in June 1947 to Zeleon and Mary Johnson of Ridgecrest. She lived in Ridgecrest nearly her entire life and is known and beloved by many. She raised one son, Bobby, and was a fantastic grandmother to her two grandchildren and loved to play grandmother to small children throughout her extended family. Once you had dinner with Nora, you were part of the family.

Nora had a passion for quilting and sewing. She gave away many beautiful quilts to her family, her friends and even to charity organizations and the women’s shelter. Nobody who knew Nora had to worry about sleeping cold at night. She also enjoyed traveling the world, visiting Italy, Greece, Crete, Australia, Alaska, Panama, Mexico, Peru and the United Kingdom. The walls of her home are adorned with Peruvian street art.

Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and is survived by her son Bobby, his wife Maria and grandchildren Benjamin and Charlotte.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m., at the H.K. Holland Memorial Chapel. Afterward there will be a procession to Desert Memorial Park for a graveside service. Flowers may be sent to the mortuary, 216 S Norma St.
