Sherry Ann ShermanSherry Ann Sherman, age 79, of Ridgecrest, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 16, 2019.

Sherry Ann Duncan was born in Phoenix, Ariz., Aug. 1, 1940, as Phoenix’s tiniest baby, weighing 2 pounds 9 ounces. Sherry was a strong-willed, feisty fighter from the beginning.

She loved her job of many years at Arizona Bank where she retired.

Sherry was most proud of her sons and husband who served in the United States Navy. Following the death of her beloved husband Ed Sherman, Sherry ventured from Phoenix to Ridgecrest in 2003 to be closer to her sons.

Sherry became an active member of the VFW where she served as the rreasurer and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 16 years. She also loved to dance. Sherry had many joys in life but she loved nothing more than gathering around a table with her friends and family every chance she could get. Sherry will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Everett Duncan, sister Lavona Duncan and husband Ed Sherman, and is survived by her children, son Darryl McGee and his wife Lori McGee; son Kevin McGee and Kris Albers; granddaughters Brandy, Brittney, Kayla and Erin McGee; grandson Justin McGee and his wife Chelsea McGee; daughters-in-law Brenda and Sandra McGee; five great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Avery McGee, Jackson Balmes, Opal Wurster, Harper Addison and many cherished friends.

Family, friends and others whose lives Sherry touched are invited to American Legion Post 684 in Ridgecrest, Saturday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. to reminisce and celebrate Sherry’s wonderful, loving life.
