Sharon Boyer

Sharon Boyer died July 13, 2019.

Sharon was born June 22, 1944, in Downey, Calif. to Art and Clarissa Lager. Sharon was an amazing woman, an excellent cook who canned her own fruits and vegetables, gardened, baked and sewed her own clothes. She owned her own beauty shop, Sharon’s Girl Talk. She also loved hiking, camping, and spending time with her husband Larry and daughter Vicki.

In the 1980s she was assistant manager at Sav-On in Ridgecrest. In 1989 she was diagnosed with myotonic muscular dystrophy. She bravely battled the severely debilitating and progressive disease until God called her home.

Wheelchair bound and unable to do anything for herself, she still found ways to help others by praying for them and showing everyone kindness. She believed in the philosophy: If you can be anything in this world — be kind.

Sharon is now free to walk, run and dance with her Savior. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Larry Boyer, her daughter Vicki Boyer (husband Justin Coursey, her two grandchildren Boyer and Owen Coursey and multiple nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
