Norval Helm

Norval HelmNorval Helm of Ridgecrest went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2019. He was 67.

Norval was born on June 12, 1952, in Hawthorne, Nev., to Donald and Melba (Greer) Helm. His dad and mom moved around some and eventually ended up in Springville, Utah. Norval graduated from Springville High School and later joined the Marine Corps for a short time.

Norval ended up moving back and forth from Utah to California.

Norval became a Christian minister and preached at different churches in CA and UT. While ministering in Ridgecrest in the early 1990s he opened up a mission where he provided food to those in need.

Norval really loved running the mission and helping people, friends, and family out. It was a great passion of his. He just really loved helping anyone he possible could.

Norval had a few hobbies he was very passionate about. Some of those hobbies included collecting hat pins of different things, places, etc. He would collect the pins and put them on his hat. He liked collecting all sorts of coins, but he really loved collecting the coins for each state on the quarter map book.

Norval had a real passion and a true talent for wood working and everything he made was gorgeous. Norval enjoyed traveling and going out to explore new places and things.

We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital and the Hoffmann Hospice Home for all their continuing love and support while caring for our dad, Norval. We appreciate you all so much.
