’Wonderful Company’ donates $10,000 to support Ridgecrest quake reliefCOMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM, RIDGECREST — The Wonderful Company, a major Kern County employer, will donate $10,000 to the Indian Wells Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to assist residents affected by last week’s earthquakes. This funding will be used to provide affected community members with critical supplies including water, diapers, baby formula and toiletries.

“We were down to the last $200 dollars in our general fund and had just two fire extinguishers left to provide training in our disaster preparedness classes,” said Brenda Dawson, Coordinator, Indian Wells Valley CERT. “This donation from The Wonderful Company will have an immediate and meaningful impact on our community and we’re grateful for their support.”

The CERT program offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.

“We are gratified to be able to support our Kern County neighbors,” said Andy Anzaldo, COO of Philanthropy for The Wonderful Company. “Many larger relief organizations have been receiving a steady flow of dollars, but we must not overlook smaller volunteer organizations, such as CERT, which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) and provides invaluable resources to local residents. Other businesses throughout the Central Valley can make a tremendous difference with such targeted donations.”
