Kern County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the remains of a deceased subject inside an RV in the area around U.S. Highway 395 and North Brown Road. According to a KCSO release, deputies found the body on June 22 at around 1 p.m.

The remains had decomposed beyond the point of recognition and the gender was indiscernible upon discovery, according to Public Information Officer Angela Monroe.

“We’re not sure how long the body has been out there and confirmation of identity will take some work by the coroner’s office,” she said.

Later, the Kern County Coroner's Office announced that the remains were that of an unidentified 68-year-old male. The time of death is unknown and the cause and manner are still under investigation according to the release.
